Obviously, she wasn’t. If you complain about being underpaid for a job that you should know what you’re signed up for, shows poor judgement – and a lack of common sense. This, in the face of a litany of complaints against City Hall, a $400,000 snow clearing deficit (and climbing) and a city in the red. Yep, all in all, not a bright move.
And having the Telegram follow you around to show how busy you are is the lamest thing she could have done. We’re all busy. Suck it up buttercup. The only difference is that she chose to run. No one forced her. Perhaps if she ran for the right seasons, she’d accept the work, stop complaining and just do her job.
After seeing the backlash against her, I don’t think she has to worry being busy when the new council is sworn in. Much like some councillors here in Paradise.
Its an interesting thing to consider, being a counsellor should a full time position but in that sense that counsellors would be expected to put in a full time effort and would be held publicly accountable otherwise.

More like a fail comment. I see the anonymous trolls are out. "The reporter had to go home lunchtime and take a nap?" Priceless. Perhaps Hanlon can count on the support she received at last night's council meeting. On wait, there was none. All councillors are busy, but we don’t hear them complaining. In fact all were embarrassed by what transpired last week.
ReplyDeleteShe knew what she was in for when she signed up, yet now complains that’s it too much work and she wants increased numeration - despite what she states publicly. The backlash against her from both the public and ALL other councillors speaks volumes. One thing for certain, she won't have to worry about being too busy after the next election.
