Old Man is one of my favourite Neil Young songs - for a number of reasons. It's been over nine years since Dad passed away and I recently met one of his friends, which brought back a flood of memories. Dad and I used to jokingly refer to one another as "Lloyd" and "Bryce", based on the popular series Newfoundland Outdoors. It was a locally produced television show where two guys named Loyd and Bryce used a hand held camera and filmed well, the Newfoundland outdoors. They enjoyed the woods immensely whether they were hurting, fishing or just having a "bile up". One of our favorite quotes was made by Lloyd who said during one episode that they had to stop at the drugstore so Bryce could "pick up his stay-alive pills". Classic. Anyway, Lloyd, this one's for you - Bryce.
