Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Today is the last day of the month – one that saw more than its fair share of rain and unusually cold temperatures. To say it has been a dismal spring would be an understatement. We had wet snow on Saturday morning for crying out loud. (It still didn’t stop me from golfing that afternoon though. Yeah, I know what you’re thinkin’ – seek professional help.)

This “spring” has been a polar opposite to last year's when we basked in sunshine and enjoyed temperatures in the high teens and low twenties - downright balmy for Newfoundland. This year has seen us -  those of us on the island portion of the province anyway - suffer through a miserable two months of RDF, cold, biting northly winds and yes, even snow, while much of the country has been enjoying record warmth and lots of sun. Well, Alberta has been hit with some cold weather and snow this past week.

Here’s hoping June brings sunnier skies and warmer temperatures. BTW, today's forecast calls for 15 to 20 mm of rain, strong northeast winds and a high of five. Sigh.
